Toowoomba Holiday Continued

Wow, it's been a while since I posted anything, I was intending on keeping this Blog up to date.
Anyway, back to the Toowoomba Holiday.
For the first week at least it was pretty warm in Toowoomba, unusual, but kind of nice, the girls and I enjoyed quite a few visits to the local Pool.
Little Emma Louise really wanted me to see how clever she is with her swimming in the girls Pool they had at home.  As you can see, she was pretty happy being in the Pool, but not impressed when it was time to get out, funny little girl.

She is such a funny little girl, I love her so much, apparently she didn't want to get out of the pool, or out of her bathers.

Anyway, as Kaitlyn had her DDD, it was Hannah's turn next.  Hannah and I have always enjoyed going to the Coffee Club in town together, again I forgot my phone, so no photo's of this DDD.  I can tell you though that we had a great time, lots of chatting and laughing.  The plan was to go to Gelatissimo Cafe for icecream as dessert, however Hannah, was deadset intent on having dessert at the Coffee Club, the cakes they had on display just looked way too good, as well as Gelatissimo Cafe Gelato.  We shared a chocolate brownie then headed up to get Gelato.  Hannah chose Chocolate, it was quite funny, Hannah being Hannah, dropped hers, only a few sprinkles added, a quick clean up and it was as good as new.....  We both had a good chuckle about it.  Then it was off home to our holiday home.  Hot Milo each, showers and into bed.  Hannah was happy to have me all to herself for the night.

She is my beautiful girl, I love you Hannah Jane Yates

January 16th - My Birthday Continued.....

Well as previously mentioned, little Emma Louise was getting tired, so was Suzy I think, it had been a busy morning, so they left to go have a nap, also prepare for dinner, I was invited to go up for an early dinner, that Emma was insistant on cooking, well helping anyway.  I was just dying to spend some more time with my little girl.

Kaitlyn, Hannah and I spent the afternoon at the local pool in Toowoomba, both girls love it, it has a big indoor slide that the girls spend alot of time on, the indoor pool also has what they call a 'Wave Pool', meaning that they can almost turn it into surf like conditions, good fun.  Also outside, they had a massive blow up obstacle course, Hannah thought it was just awesome, she had to wait about 30 minutes in line to get on and attempt it, I think it was more designed for older kids, as there were alot of teenage boys on it.  Hannah was determined to have a go, she was amazing, there was alot of jumping from one obstacle to the other, it required good coordination and skill to stay on, something she has, probably due to her gymnastics.  She was so proud to finish unscathed, so was I, as some of the older boys were trying to bounce her off, but she managed to stay on and finish.  I didn't have any photos of this event either, I don't usually have my phone out at the pool, I'm scared someone will steal it when I'm swimming.

Anyway, after swimming, it was back to the holiday cottage, and shower time, get changed and head up to 2 Wattle Close, Highfields, to have a play and dinner with all three of my girls.

As you can see, it was sausages for dinner, along with salad, and some mango for dessert.  Emma was very keen to show me around the yard, we saw the chookies, the guinea pigs, the strawberries, all the mulberries and rasberries had finished, it used to be 'our' thing for Emma and I to go and feed the chookies and put them to bed, and then have a little feed from the mulberry tree's, when they were in season of course.
We had a good time that afternoon and evening, played on the trampoline, Emma showed me her Christmas presents, we read some books together, a wonderful birthday.

The next day we were to meet Suzy and Emma in town, and I would have all the girls for the day, again it was a 'Pool' day.

Hannah found this and needed a photo.... Funny Girl.....

After swimming, the girls and I decided that it was time for a McDonalds ice cream and chocolate shake.  Emma is not really a good sharer when it comes to yummy treats, she was meant to be sharing with Hannah in the back seat, when Hannah asked for a sip, Emma replied, "No, mine"...... I had to remind her to share, she replied, "Ok", handing it over to Hannah to have a turn.  Hannah has a sip, then Emma demands her turn again, it's handed over, and the whole thing starts again.  I'm glad we weren't staying far, so we finished our ice creams and choc shakes at our holiday home.

As you can see she rather enjoyed her shake and ice cream, so did Hannah.....
When Kaitlyn was still a baby, I started doing 'Daddy Daughter Dates', (DDD) this has continued on ever since, with all the girls, it was decided that Kaitlyn would have the first DDD with me, we were going to our favourite place in Toowoomba, Hana - Japanese Sushi Train, followed by dessert at Gelatissimo Cafe.  We both ate alot at the Sushi Train, as usual.... but it was yummy, I normally take photo's of the 2 of us there or at least of Kaitlyn eating Sushi, I didn't on this occasion for some reason, so I have added a photo from a previous visit.  Kaitlyn seems to have quite a taste for the good things, at Gelatissimo she had Caramelised Fig gelato, was very yummy...... I did take a photo of this occasion......

Isn't she just adorable, I love you Kaitlyn Gail Yates, so very much xxx

Gelato at Gelatissimo Cafe, yummy.... Look at how grown up she is, I can't believe she is 11 in May........

After dinner we headed home, well our holiday home.  I had a green tea, Kaitlyn had a warm milo, then it was time for brushing teeth, reading together and bed.

We both had a great time together that night, we read together for a bit, then it was time for kisses, cuddles and lights out, well for Kaitlyn anyway, I stayed up for a bit longer..... I again had to share my bed, Kaitlyn is a real snuggler, meaning that, she just has to be touching or holding me when she sleeps with me, it's kind of nice, especially as I was trying to catch up on cuddles and kisses from my girls.

Toowoomba Holday - My Birthday - Amazing Race - Part 3

Ok, both Kaitlyn and Hannah had a good play at Webb Park.  It appears as though I didn't get any photo's of the massive slide at the park, again Hannah loves it, Kaitlyn is very cautious, I have been on it on a previous visit with the girls, it's quite long and steep, meaning you end up going down rather fast, quite possibly faster than I would like, as at the end you usually end up stacking it.  I will add some photo's of it with the girls in another post.

Well the next clue had us go to Queens Park, pretty much in the centre of Toowoomba, a wonderful park, all the girls love, we have had many a great picnic and play here.  There is a music section, which is where our next clue was, again I failed to take any photo's here.  There was a challenge though once we found the next clue, the three of us had to join as one using elastic, me being in the middle, Kaitlyn to my right and Hannah to my left, so Hannah's right leg was joined to my left leg and Kaitlyn's left leg was joined to my right leg, we then had to make our way to the other play ground.  This was quite a challenge, it was very funny, I'm sure a few people got a good laugh at the three of us, I ended up cutting loose and Hannah and Kaitlyn continued on.  We then had to find Suzy and Emma, for the end of the Amazing Race.

I have to acknowledge that Suzy did a fantastic job in setting this up, it took a fair bit of planning, it was really nice, I did appreciate it.  At the end we found Suzy and Emma at a table all set up for a birthday picnic, even a birthday cake, and best of all some more Emma kisses and cuddles.

How cute is this little girl, love you Emma Louise Yates.

My girls and birthday cake.

After some cake and morning tea, it was time to play, the girls especially Emma were very patient, and were dying to play, Emma just loves the swing, especially when I'm pushing, she insists on being pushed higher, and faster, a real little dare devil, but a pretty damn cute one at that.

Well that's about it for the amazing race, it was a fantastic morning, with lots of fun and laughter.  Emma was getting tired, and needed to go home for a nap, due to it being pretty hot, Kaitlyn and Hannah wanted to go to the local pool for a swim, we were then going up to Highfields for dinner, also so Emma and I could have some more fun together playing, she is just so adorable, very independant, so wanting to do things for herself, you'll see this in future Blog's.

Toowoomba Holday - My Birthday - Amazing Race - Part 2

Well continuing from where I left off last time, our next clue had us go to Webb Park, it's in a pretty posh area of Toowoomba.  The girls love this park, there is a flying fox, we used to go there quite a bit, Hannah loves the flying fox, Kaitlyn is a little bit cautious, usually I have to go on it with her, we had to look around the park for other clue's and whilst there have a good play.

As you can see we had a good time, the weather was perfect, beautiful sounds of my girls laughing and having fun.

Toowoomba Holday - My Birthday - Amazing Race

On waking up on the 16th of January, Kaitlyn and Hannah wanted Daddies famous pancakes for breakfast, I cheated and had a packet mix, they didn't mind.  We had to have a pretty hearty breakfast as the girls along with Suzy had planned a surprise, it was based on the Amazing Race.  The girls went to the letter box, in it was our first clue on where we had to go, we ended up at Picnic Point, where we had to search for more clues.

We had to climb into a castle and look for the clue, and take a photo, showing us all in there.  We then had to go to another part of the park to look for our next clue, it would be found at a special tree, where more photo's had to be taken.

Aren't those girls just gorgeous.

Needed 1 with the 2 models.

Always ready to strike a pose, well if she's in the mood for it, still she is just beautiful.

Being silly, pulling faces.

And again, posing for another photo.

Toowoomba Holiday Part 2

Ok, well the first day with the girls went well, Kaitlyn, Hannah and I headed into town, as I had to book into the unit I rented for the time I was in town.  Emma had to go to daycare, so it was arranged for me to pick her up in the afternoon.  When she saw me she cried, then ran up to me for a cuddle, that made me feel great.  As it was a rather hot day, we went and got an iced chocolate each, then headed back to the unit.  Suzy came later and picked up Emma.

The big girls and I decided that as we didn't really do any grocery shopping we would go out for dinner, Hannah was given the job of choosing where we would do dinner, she wanted Pizza at Pizza Hut, on arriving the restuarant had closed down, she was really disappointed as she loved the all you can eat Pizza, and the dessert bar.  So the next choice was Sizzler, what a disappointment that was, took forever to get Kaitlyn's dinner, then they didn't serve the famous bread, not very happy, the girls really did enjoy the dessert bar though.

As you can see both girls were pretty happy with the dessert bar, I think they really liked being able to go up and help themselves, both had 2 servings each, I think Hannah pocketed some lollies from the dessert bar though, funny girl.

The best part of the day was bed time, we were all pretty tired from a pretty busy day, so it was into my bed for story time, and cuddles before sleep time.

As you can see we had some laughs, enjoying being together again, of course both girls wanted to sleep with me, even though there were 2 comfy beds in the spare room, I think from memory that Hannah got to sleep with me the first night, the bed was not quite big enough for the 3 of us.  It was nice knowing I had 1 of my girls sleeping next to me, Hannah is a bit of a bed hog as I found out, and insisted throughout the night to be as close as possible to me, with me nearly falling out during the night.

Toowoomba Holiday in January

Again it has been a long time since I have posted anything on my Blog, lots of reasons, however being a bit lazy was one of them.  Well in January I managed to get some time off work for 3 weeks, so I went back to Toowoomba to see my precious girls.  Before I left I promised Kaitlyn that I would try my best to get back to Toowoomba before school started.  She was really nervous about going into year 6 and desperately wanted me to be there for the first day.  The other bonus was being able to spend my birthday with the girls.
14th January 2013
This was taken circling over Brisbane, almost there.
I didn't arrive in Toowoomba till quite late, and my holiday accommodation wasn't going to be ready till the next day.  I stayed the night with a good friend, we shared a few beers, and some very funny stories, mainly about the goings on of Mornington Island.  Being a dry community, meaning nil alcohol what so ever, it had been a while since last enjoying a drink.  Was a most enjoyable evening catching up again, thanks Johnsy.
15th January 2013
The next morning I was up nice and early, I had also hired a car, so it was up to Highfields.  I was met by 3 very excited little girls, well Kaitlyn isn't really little anymore, neither is Hannah, they will always be my babies though.  Emma had grown so much, she is a real little chatterbox, so cute.  That morning she just clung to me, I had the best cuddles, she really didn't want to let go, she cried when I put her down.

My little Princess Emma, how cute is she.
It was pretty confusing for Emma, before I left Toowoomba for Mornington Island, we spent alot of time together, as I wasn't at home with the girls I wanted to make sure that I always had that special Daddy bond with my girls.  With Emma still breastfeeding, she was still very much reliant on Suzy.  I had to put alot of time in to ensure we didnt lose that bond.  By the time I left for Mornington Island, we were very close, she enjoyed coming over to my home, spending time with me, there were times that we would spend the entire day together, she would go to sleep on my bed when she was tired, usually though we had a nice cuddle together first.
When I came back from Mornington Island, even though I got some beautiful cuddles to start with, she was still a little reluctant to be without her mummy.  It was confusing for her, it was also hard for me, I just wanted to spend as much time as possible with my girls.
Well, I think thats about enough for tonight, will promise to add more snippets regarding the Toowoomba holiday over the next few days, I will endeavour to try and keep this up to date, so I have heaps to catch up on.
P.S. Kaitlyn, Hannah and Emma, love you all to the moon and back, forever and always, no matter what.
Lots of Love
Daddy
